Interview with Jenna Lobos

Author of Love Your Body, Love Your Life.

Love Your Body, Love Your Life; A 52 week guide that will radically change your health!

Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?

Originally from California. Currently reside in; Newport Beach, California.

What made you decide to write and publish your first book?

This book began as a blog. I was growing my organic skincare brand; BeautyMark Organics and was sending a monthly newsletter out to clients. My assistant at the time suggested I bundled up the information. Two weeks later she came back with design and a format, which initially turned into a 31 Tip book, then after a radio interview, where the radio show wanted to know my personal story on how I went from ( Real Estate girl to author and Organic Skin Care founder, the tip book turned into the current book now, which is a 52 week tip guide + my personal journey on spirituality and transformation!

How would you describe your books to first time readers?

Love Your Body, Love Your Life is a 52 week guide, with health and beauty tips + personal stories on my spiritual journey.

Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?

Any women who is searching to find her voice!

What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?

Writing and publishing is cathartic and also tedious at times! Real life can and will get in the way of the time frame! Be gentle with the process!

If you could, what advice would you give to your past self before embarking on this journey?

Oh Wow!! That was my first response to this question! Lol! My advise would be; procrastinate less, let go of perfection and get support!

How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?

As many as possible!

What has been the biggest challenge and frustration during the process to date?

Real Life getting in the way and delaying the release of the book. And coming to grips with the vulnerability of sharing parts of my story!

What’s your biggest strengths when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

Writing is defiantly my strength. Thoughts, ideas, stories and in particular poetry comes into my mind almost constantly. I have a daily journal ritual and during the process of writing this book I took a notepad with me everywhere so when thoughts arose, i could write them down. Publishing not a strong point; hence working with a publishing company. Marketing; Im good on social media.

What’s your biggest weakness when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

Biggest weakness around writing; revising, re-editing, sometimes almost “to careful” in what I say, this happens with perfectionists. I feel much more freedom when writing poetry; I tend to let it all go and flow as is…. Publishing; is my biggest weakness, glad to have trust in my publishing company. Marketing; Id say my biggest weakness is consistency, since for right now I do all my marketing on social media, I could post more content. A goal in 2020!

When do you think you will write your next book?

My next book is already half way done. I just need to design and edit!

Are you self published or did you use a hybrid publisher, or a traditional publisher?

Self Published.
