The Heart of Self-Love

Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?

Originally from Denver, Colorado and now reside in Boulder, Colorado.

If you currently reside somewhere besides where you were born, what’s the story that lead from there to here?

(very close)

What made you decide to write and publish your first book?

I had spent 20 years healing and putting myself together piece by piece, which was an empowering process and one I wanted to teach others how to do.

How would you describe your books to first time readers?

My book, The Heart of Self-Love, is best for young adults who want a general overview of the steps to create confidence. My book, Blueprint for Love, is for people who have lived through some painful romantic relationship experiences and want help finding their way to love.

Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?

People with anxiety, wounded self-esteem, and/or are interested in self-help.

What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?

It is very involved and a never-ending process. I constantly want to (and have) go back and update my books as I learn!

If you could, what advice would you give to your past self before embarking on this journey?

Take your time.

How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?

Unlimited

What has been the biggest challenge and frustration during the process to date?

Marketing is a whole separate job.

What’s your biggest strengths when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

My knowledge of the content and desire for self-expression.

What’s your biggest weakness when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

Patience and willingness to let go once it’s done, as well as the constant marketing involved.

When do you think you will write your next book?

I am working on a course next.

Are you self published or did you use a hybrid publisher, or a traditional publisher?

I used a hybrid publisher for my first book and self-published my second one.
