Memories of Chronosalis

Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?

I’m originally from Acworth, NH but now reside in the town of Walpole, NH.

If you currently reside somewhere besides where you were born, what’s the story that lead from there to here?

I was born in Derry, NH. When I was 8 years old, my parents decided to move toward the country and we stayed there ever since!

What made you decide to write and publish your first book?

I was 15 years old when I published my first two books. It was actually my mother’s idea initially. She saw potential in me that I never saw in myself. Ever since then, my love for writing and publishing continued to grow!

How would you describe your books to first time readers?

My older books are geared for middle school kids and they’re primarily mystery with a bit of mixed genre. Within the last few years is when I began delving into the world of sci-fi/fantasy.

Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?

Young adults and older.

What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?

Just how difficult it is to market yourself. Writing always came easy to me, but the marketing aspect has always been the tough part.

If you could, what advice would you give to your past self before embarking on this journey?

Either write as a hobby or fully dedicate yourself to writing for a living, there’s no in-between.

How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?

Everyone and everywhere!

What has been the biggest challenge and frustration during the process to date?

Finding time and money to market.

What’s your biggest strengths when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

a) World building has always been my strong point in writing
b) Knowing what I want within the self-publishing companies I decide to use.
c) Making a list of marketing techniques that work for me.

What’s your biggest weakness when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

a) Descriptions have always been a challenge.
b) With my self-publishing company, the book must be formatted before submitting to the company. I don’t know a whole lot about formatting as I have someone else do that for me.
c) Finding new methods of marketing, I tend to like to stay with the same plan.

When do you think you will write your next book?

I have a book coming out every year.

Are you self published or did you use a hybrid publisher, or a traditional publisher?

Self-published
