Interview with Emil Toth
Author of Love’s Transformation (this is the first book in my LOVE series of 7 books)
Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?
I was born in South Bend and still live here.
If you currently reside somewhere besides where you were born, what’s the story that lead from there to here?
I’ve always lived in South Bend.
What made you decide to write and publish your first book?
I was inspired to write the book. I thought the message needed to out there for people to read.
How would you describe your books to first time readers?
My LOVE series of books are about heroic women who are breaking barriers in a male dominated society to bring about justice and equality for all women.
Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?
Girls and women who are seeking to become fulfilled in their social life and spiritual life.
What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?
I was surprised I had so many stories in me about the injustices women suffer and how they strive to achieve spirituality. I was taken aback by the differences in publishers.
If you could, what advice would you give to your past self before embarking on this journey?
I had an agent 20 years ago. I wish I would have sought her advice on the manuscript and in general talked to her more to get a clearer idea of what the publishing business was like.
How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?
I’d like to reach all women who are struggling to know their identity and to those who are hoping to know what spirituality is. I’d also like to reach people who wonder what and how to achieve an experience with God.
What has been the biggest challenge and frustration during the process to date?
My biggest challenge is to make my books known to the public. It is frustrating to find the right company to accomplish my challenge.
What’s your biggest strengths when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?
I think my writing strength is drawing from the events in my life and converting them into emotional stories in my books. I have found an excellent publisher to work with. I am 84 and I do not have the where with all of the young generation to promote my books.
What’s your biggest weakness when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?
I’m confident about my writing and happy with my publisher. I’m trying to find the right marketing firm to help my sales rise.
When do you think you will write your next book?
I am currently writing my autobiography and polishing two manuscripts in the LOVE series and another in the CROSS series.
Are you self published or did you use a hybrid publisher, or a traditional publisher?
I am self published. I am using Publish Wholesale and Life Rich Publisher. I have also used Amazon.
