Interview with Daniel Portik

Author of Fill Your Funnel

Fill Your Funnel

Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?

Ohio

If you currently reside somewhere besides where you were born, what’s the story that lead from there to here?

I have always lived in Ohio

What made you decide to write and publish your first book?

For years I have been prospecting and closing sales online without ever speaking to my clients. I used in-person techniques from world renown sales trainer Tom Hopkins and transferred them to the online environment. With this in mind, I reach out to him online and he agreed to coauthor my first book on the subject. Over a period of two years we were published and the book Fill Your Funnel became an Amazon #1 best seller in two countries and #2 in the United States.

How would you describe your books to first time readers?

My books are all about prospecting and selling online. Plus all the attributes and techniques required to get noticed, make a presentation and close a sale with very little one on one, in-person contact.

Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?

Salespeople, people in business and business owners young and old will benefit from my books.

What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?

I learn almost anyone can be reached online if you have a compelling message that is geared to their wants.

If you could, what advice would you give to your past self before embarking on this journey?

I should have done this 20 years sooner! Just go for it 100 percent of the time and don’t look back. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?

100 million

What has been the biggest challenge and frustration during the process to date?

After being published, the biggest challenge has been setting enough time aside to continue to write more books and market them what I run my current business.

What’s your biggest strengths when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

Experience in sales and marketing.

What’s your biggest weakness when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

Organization.

When do you think you will write your next book?

I have 5 books in the work and and editor helping me. I would like to have the next one out before year’s end.

Are you self published or did you use a hybrid publisher, or a traditional publisher?

First book was a traditional publisher and the 2nd was self published
