Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?

Born in Freeman, Virginia, grew up in Youngstown, Ohio

If you currently reside somewhere besides where you were born, what’s the story that lead from there to here?

Reside in Winter Garden, Florida. Moved to Florida in 1985 with husband who had a job transfer.

What made you decide to write and publish your first book?

Love to write and hoped to leave a legacy.

How would you describe your books to first time readers?

The book was written to stimulate discussion between black women and white women. It was also written to distinguish who we are and how we feel.

Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?

Black women because they will see themselves and will be able to initiate discussion.

What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?

I am not patient. When writing it flows.

If you could, what advice would you give to your past self before embarking on this journey?

Keep your notes organized and keep hard copies of research.

How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?

Thousands,women studies and book clubs.

What has been the biggest challenge and frustration during the process to date?

Marketing

Writing, grammar and proper speech.
