Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?

I am originally from North Carolina but currently reside in South Florida

If you currently reside somewhere besides where you were born, what’s the story that lead from there to here?

What made me to South Florida was the desire to ensure that my daughter had a relationship with her father. In all honesty, I hated it when I first moved here. It was a huge adjustment as I have never lived outside of my home state before. However, I am truly glad that I am here because it has helped mold and shape me into the person that I am today.

What made you decide to write and publish your first book?

I decided to publish my first book based on one of the most painful experiences I have encountered in my life. Publishing the book was not necessarily to expose what had happened to me, rather, it was to hopefully serve as a survival guide to those who may have endured the same or similar situation as me. My book is a memoir of my relationship, marriage, and divorce to a narcissistic sex addict. He hid his true self from me for years and when it came time to be held accountable for his actions, he decided to take me on one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride. I wanted to be able to share my story on this wild ride in hopes that it will inspire others to choose themselves above all else.

How would you describe your books to first time readers?

I would describe my books to my first time readers as a conversation with a good girlfriend. My books will allow you to feel as well as express. They will allow you to heal and release. My books are in extension of me, stripped down to my purest form, exposing myself fully to show my scars and how I have healed, in hopes that my reader can do the same.

Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?

I feel the women who have ever felt lost or broken in a relationship can relate to my topic. I feel that women who need a small reminder or nudge to readjust their crown can connect. I feel like the woman who is looking to reclaim her time, understand the values that she brings to the table, and realizes her true self worth can relate to my topics!

What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?

One surprising thing that I learned during the process of writing and publishing was that releasing wounds is a beautiful thing. It was a difficult journey, but a necessary one. In June, I had attended a Summit with Derrick Jaxn and during this summit, I actually spoke out for the first time about what I had endured. Jaxn asked to read my book (I had my manuscript with me) and shortly after, I held my own book reading and discussion. It was so beautiful to know that my book was serving a purpose and surprising that people wanted to read my story and could relate on so many levels. Many have told me they cried, stopped reading out of emotion and/or shared my book with those they felt needed it most.

If you could, what advice would you give to your past self before embarking on this journey?

Dear past self,

Dust settles, you don’t. Don’t ever write yourself to make others feel important. Don’t ever compromise your self or a love that isn’t deserving of you

How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?

I would love to be hundreds of thousands of people with my book. But this journey started, I have found so much healing in myself by knowing that by Sharing my story I had to help others as well. I would love to not only reach the people through my book, but also relate on a personal level III webinar, workshops, and retreat I would love to not only reach the people through my book, but also relate on a personal level through webinars, workshops, and retreats.

What has been the biggest challenge and frustration during the process to date?

The biggest challenge for me was initially feeling so scared of what others would think about my story and my journey. For feeling that others would criticize me for the decisions that I made and shared with in my book.

What’s your biggest strengths when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

My biggest strength is definitely my writing. My writing is pure and from the heart.

What’s your biggest weakness when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

My biggest weakness would probably be marketing. I would say this because of the fees that I initially heard of sharing my story. It was very difficult for me to want to market my book an my biggest weakness would probably be marketing. I would say this because of the sea is that I initially had of sharing my story.

When do you think you will write your next book?

I am currently in the process of writing my next book and hope to have it released before 2020. It will be a continuation of my first book but more along the lines of a girlfriends guide to reclaiming your time and your self worth.

Are you self published or did you use a hybrid publisher, or a traditional publisher?

Self published
