Interview with Randell Van Alst

Author of Apparition America

Apparition America

Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?

Born in McCutchenville Ohio, but now reside Kissimmee, Florida

If you currently reside somewhere besides where you were born, what’s the story that lead from there to here?

That’s a long story. Life in general led me here.

What made you decide to write and publish your first book?

Well… Apparition America is my third book. My first book was “Ghosts in Reality.” I wanted to share my experiences and educate those about the paranormal.

How would you describe your books to first time readers?

My books give insight into the world of ghosts and hauntings, and how to fully understand why ghosts haunt and what to do if your home is haunted.

Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?

Anyone who’s interested in the paranormal, history, and life after death.

What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?

The first hand research was incredible. I was able to help many of those who were experiencing haunted activity in their lives. I have received many replies stating how my books helped those understand, giving them a better picture of why haunting occur.

If you could, what advice would you give to past self yourself before embarking on this journey?

Safety is always first. Never underestimate the power of a spiritual entity.

How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?

As many as possible. Both the entertainment and media worlds have given false information for popularity and personal financial gain. This misinformation has put a lot of people at risk when experiencing and dealing with ghosts and other forms of haunted activity.

What has been the biggest challenge and frustration during the process to date?

Getting help to those that truly need it. VSI has been overwhelmed with responses inviting us to help them with their paranormal issues. Also, there’s a lot of fraud, imagination and deception in this field of study. However, there’s about 20% hardcore evidence that cannot be ignored to which society has yet to even begin to approach.

What’s your biggest strengths when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

That would be getting my work out to the public. I do this by conducting several various interviews as well as my book signings. I particularly enjoy answering questions on these topics.

What’s your biggest weakness when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

Not enough books!

When do you think you will you write your next book?

Released my fifth book; “Understanding Hauntings.” Been conducting intense research for the last 5 years on various subjects. I hope to have my next book out by late 2019 or early 2020.

Are you self published or did you use a hybrid publisher, or a traditional publisher?

I am currently with American Star Publishers.
