Interview with Larene Sanford

Author of Railroad Crossings to Restoration,

Living for Jesus, Living Life Abundantly

Rail Road Crossing

Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?

I was born in Banning California. I reside in two locations. One in Hemet, CA and the other in Olathe, KS.

If you currently reside somewhere besides where you were born, what’s the story that lead from there to here?

I go where I am called. It’s not easy to set out on a journey when you’re unsure of where it will take you, but with faith and a strong sense of who you are, you can go with boldness. I’ve been in various parts of California serving in different churches. I recently moved to Kansas to be close to my children and grand-children.

What made you decide to write and publish your first book?

I believe God called me to write my book to share my personal story of how I found restoration after being devastated by circumstances that overwhelmed me, so to help others who needed hope and peace in their lives. It is a personal journey where I faced my greatest fears and found transformation of the heart and mind. My story brings renewed Hope – like crossing the Railroad Tracks from this side of tragedy to the other side of Restoration.

How would you describe your books to first time readers?

Living for JesusLoss can drive us to a sense of despair, a state in which we feel we cannot carry on. Overwhelmed with emptiness except for the pain tragedy left behind, we call out to God with anxious pleas for help – What do I do? Where do I go? How do I go on when I’ve lost all hope? I remember, how God’s love came down like pouring rain on a blazing fire. I cried out to my Father. He answered in such a way that I would not mistake His voice. He spoke loudly. He spoke clearly. He would not, and did not, leave me alone. Rehabilitating my crippled repute, I now stood up. Able to stand, I would move forward through the fiery furnace and into restoration. The awareness of what Jesus had done prepared me for here-and-now, and reminded me that there is hope in the future.

Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?

As I reveal my story, certain that God spared my life, a simple one at that, common and one of that of a Pastors wife and mother of two, I began to hear God speak to my broken heart. My faith became not only necessary, but everything I needed.

What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?

You can do more than you think you can when you give the process and results to God and keep moving forward as He leads.

If you could, what advice would you give to past self yourself before embarking on this journey?

Don’t be afraid. Don’t give up. You are doing what you were called to do. Don’t make excuses. You are exactly who you’re supposed to be as you follow God’s leading of the Holy Spirit.Living Life

How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?

Finances. It takes quite a lot of money to publish and do it right.

What’s your biggest strengths when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

Relating to people and having a passion to help others. The stories are sincere and honest. I believe people appreciate transparency.

What’s your biggest weakness when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

Marketing! I don’t like to talk myself up, so it’s hard to sell.
