Stand Up! Step Toward A New Direction Using Principles

Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?

Although I have traveled overseas and lived in other states I was born, raised and currently reside in Ohio.

If you currently reside somewhere besides where you were born, what’s the story that lead from there to here?

When most of the people I grew up with never left our small town in Ohio I have had the opportunity to travel not only throughout the United States but also to travel abroad.

What made you decide to write and publish your first book?

I have over 30 years of social service experience. The Stand Up! book wad action planner was developed to reach individuals and families in the community who may not otherwise be aware of available resources or have the tools needed to live prosperously and achieve overall well being.

How would you describe your books to first time readers?

The Stand Up! (Step Toward A New Direction Using Principles) Book and Action Planner is dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals to step toward prosperous living by learning and applying the Stand Up! principles. The goals of Stand Up! are to motivate readers to explore their potential, encourage them to pursue available opportunities to improve their current situation through education and shared resourcing and to provide appropriate tools and resources.

Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?

Stand Up! is for anyone who is at a crossroads in life and ready to make positive changes through self discovery and empowerment. Readers will complete the Stand Up! Prosperity Continuum, develop their purpose & vision statement, learn how the principles apply in their life, identify their strength, supports and resources, develop a spending plan, complete a Personal Health Awareness Appraisal, Complete the Personal Habit Motivation Questionnaire, Identify their goals and action steps and track their progress in the Stand Up! Action Planner.

What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?

The Stand Up! Program was developed not only from the experiences of being a social worker for more than 30 years but from my own personal life experiences and the hardships that I have endured and overcome.

If you could, what advice would you give to past self yourself before embarking on this journey?

Always remember to have faith and trust in God.

How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?

Stand Up! is designed to be a global initiative.

What has been the biggest challenge and frustration during the process to date?

The limits of marketing and exposure.

What’s your biggest strengths when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?
